About The Hampshire SCITT Partnership

The SCITT was accredited in March 2014 and trains about 35 secondary trainees each year in up to 14 schools in Hampshire.  We were graded Outstanding by Ofsted in November 2016: “This is outstanding provision. At every level and in every way, highly effective leaders have created a teacher training programme which regularly produces extremely proficient teachers.”  Across our very strong partnership of schools, our aim is to produce teachers who are effective in classrooms, reflective about issues they face and ready to make a positive contribution to the profession.  Most of our trainees gain NQT posts in our partner schools and we are very proud of the contribution we are making towards teacher employment and retention in Hampshire.  The SCITT enjoys an excellent reputation and, as a result, we are able to recruit high calibre trainees each year.

Thornden School is the lead school for the SCITT and both the SCITT Director and SCITT Administrator are based here.
