Wildern Partnership SCITT is looking for outstanding secondary subject practitioners to work as members of our teacher training programmes as Professional Tutors for the following subjects:

  • Performing Arts (including Music and Drama)
  • Science

Through the provision of collaborative, high quality and cross phase facilitation, we aim to develop trainees as lifelong learners, reflective practitioners and critical thinkers, who develop and pursue an understanding of how theory underpins practice. Participation in the Wildern Partnership SCITT offers rich professional development for practitioners and the opportunity to positively influence the next generation of teachers.

You will work alongside a team of tutors playing a key role advising the SCITT Programme Leader and Development Tutor on the most effective provision in terms of supporting the trainees in becoming highly skilled and reflective practitioners. You will contribute to the development of plans to continue to improve the programme and maintain outstanding provision in accordance with the ITE framework.

You will directly support a group of trainees, working with their school-based mentors as well as delivering outstanding professional development sessions to secondary trainees. In line with partnership developments as well as the ITT Core Content and Early Career Frameworks, there is strong emphasis on the need for training to be subject and phase specific throughout the programme.  The Tutor’s role is to ensure they carefully craft coherently sequenced curricula that meet the particular needs of their trainees, including the foundational knowledge of what subjects and curricula are.

You will be fully supported by the SCITT Programme Leader, Development Tutor and Programme Administration Team.

A full role description is available on request which includes time commitment and renumeration information.

Expressions of interest need to be with us by Friday 26 June and can be made to j.anderson@wildernpartnership.co.uk and further information can be obtained from s.bickley@wildernpartnership.co.uk.
